What is the present perfect simple

If you want to talk about something that happened in the past and has an effect on the present or if you can ask "How often?" or "How many times?" , you have to use the present perfect simple. 

But there are a few things you need to know before you can use it.

Creating a sentence

  • have/has
  • 3. form of the verb

Examples:

I have never been to New York.

He has never been to New York.

They have never been to New York.


Signal words

ever, never, yet, so far, since, for, already, just, today, this week, this year (if the day, the week or the year isn`t over yet)

Examples:

I have never been to New York.

You haven`t done your homework yet.

He hasn`t eaten a pineapple for two days.
